Creative Biolabs offers a range of gene manipulation solutions based on a variety of approaches, including but not limited to the following:

Gene Knockout

Gene knockout is a genetic technique that results in losing function of a particular gene with known sequence but unknown function by altering the gene sequences so that the biological function of the gene can be inferred from the influence on organisms. Gene knockout is also the term that refers to the gene that is knocked out or the organism that carries the knockout genes. With over decades of experience and the state-of-the-art drug discovery platforms, we can totally meet your project requirements and budgets in the gene knockout services.

Gene Knock-in

Gene knock-in is a genetic technique involving the one-for-one substitution of DNA sequence information in a genetic locus or the insertion of sequence information not found within the locus. This technique is typically done in mice and it differs from traditional transgenic techniques because a knock-in targeted inserts a gene into specific locus. A common use of gene knock-in is to build disease models. We are specialized in providing various disease models and we can provide customized models for specific needs. Using gene knock-in technique, we can help validate the relationship of target and diseases.

Gene Overexpression

Gene overexpression is a genetic technique that leads to the abundant target protein expression subsequently. The fundamental principle is to add regulatory elements to the upstream of the target gene through artificial construction, so that genes can be transcribed and translated efficiently under controlled conditions. Gene overexpression is a powerful tool to study the biological function of target gene products. Based on the advanced gene overexpression technology, we are providing services for our clients from all over the world, especially the clients who are currently trying to or having difficulty working on drug target validation.

Gene Silencing

Gene silencing is a genetic technique to prevent the expression of a certain gene in a cell and is often considered the same as gene knockdown. Gene silencing can occur at the transcriptional level and post-transcriptional level. Gene silencing is different from gene knockout, because the methods used to silence genes, such as siRNA and shRNA, can generally reduce gene expression but cannot completely eliminate it. It is precisely because of this that researchers can use gene silencing to study the basic genes needed for animal models to survive and cannot be removed. For years, Creative Biolabs has been developing techniques and providing services for drug discovery and target validation by the means of gene silencing.

Creative Biolabs has a dedicated assay development team that will work closely with you to design customized assays. Our service will meet your specific needs fast at extremely competitive prices.
